(Pocket-lint) – WhatsApp offers a range of features, some nice and easy to find, while others require you to delve a little deeper into the app.
For example, the messaging app lets you hide your last seen messages, respond to messages with emojis, and even change the background image for each contact if you want. We’ve covered our favorite tips and tricks in our separate feature, but here we’re going to focus on one tip that we recently discovered and love.
Did you know that it is possible to hide your WhatsApp profile picture from individual contacts? It may be that you don’t want a specific person or people to see your picture, or maybe you want to make it appear like you’ve blocked someone to teach them a little lesson, but you don’t really want to block them because then you won’t know if they message you.

- Open the WhatsApp app
- Tap the Settings tab in the bottom right
- Tap on Account
- Beat privacy
- Tap on profile pic
- Tap on My contacts except…
- Select all contacts who should not see your WhatsApp profile picture
- Tap on Done in the upper right corner
You can still send and receive messages with the contacts you choose as usual, but they’ll see a big circle with a person icon instead of your WhatsApp picture.
