HP Police Constable Exam: 5 held after WhatsApp chat about paper leaks

All five candidates from the Arki area in Solan district had passed the qualifying exam on March 27 and scored over 60 out of 80 points.

Five youths from the Arki area of ​​Solan district were arrested a week after their WhatsApp chat was widely shared, indicating that the paper of the police officer recruitment exam held on March 27 was leaked.

More than 75,000 candidates have taken the examination for the post of police officer in the Himachal Pradesh Police Department at 81 centers established in 12 districts of the state.

All five had passed the exam and scored more than 60 out of 80 points.

The police department had put in place extensive arrangements to check for cheating of candidates who appeared in the exam, which lasted an hour.

However, the exam went under a cloud after chatting with the five youngsters was widely shared on social media. In chat, a man was demanding 8 lakhs too 10 lakh for running out of paper.

Solan Police Superintendent Virender Sharma said a case of mischief was registered on the complaint of Gaurav Kumar, a resident of Manol village in Arki, and the five youths were arrested. “You will be interrogated. Their phones have been confiscated and are being analyzed,” he said.

Sharma said the complainant explained that after the result was announced on April 5, a video of a WhatsApp chat making claims about the paper leak went viral on social media.
