Millions of WhatsApp users said their group chats would change forever – The US Sun

WHATSAPP is working on a new group chat feature that will affect every user.

It’s a big change that you might not notice – but it’s very important.

The chat app will soon allow you to leave groups silently.

It’s often awkward to leave a group chat because everyone will be notified.

So if you leave a chat, you can’t hide it.

Thankfully, WhatsApp is developing a silent exit feature that could land this year.

Details of the feature were confirmed by WABetaInfo WhatsApp investigators in a tweet.

“Silently leaving groups is a new feature that notifies the admin only when you leave a group chat,” WhatsApp investigators revealed.

“That means you can decide when to take a quiet exit — without everyone knowing.”

Normally, leaving a group will post a system message in chat.

This will let everyone in the group know you’re gone.

But with the new change, only the people running the group will notice.

Now in a small group, your farewell can still be noted – at least at some point.

But in larger groups you can slip out so calmly.

Unfortunately, there is no exact date when the feature will be released for everyone.

“This feature is currently under development in WhatsApp Desktop beta,” WABetaInfo explained.

“And there are plans to roll it out to users in a future update.”

If you want to try the latest WhatsApp features first, follow our guide below to join the beta.

How to get the WhatsApp beta

To download WhatsApp Beta for your smartphone, you need to go to Google Play on your Android and search for WhatsApp.

Scroll down the page until you see “Become a Beta Tester”.

Tap the “I’m in” button, then tap “Join” to confirm.

Now all you have to do is wait for the update to the beta version of the app.
