Wordle Today: Wordle 408 August 1 Notes and Today’s Answer

Wordle has taken the world by storm, and if you haven’t given in to the daily game, we can guarantee you’ve been seeing the elusive squares all over social media.

The game uses the same rules as Scrabble, where only real words are allowed in both the guessing and the outcome.

If you find a letter in the right place and form the correct word, the square will turn green.

But if the guessed letter is in the word but not in the right place, the square will turn yellow.

Incorrect letters will be grayed out to aid in the elimination process for the six tries.

World New York Times

The game was developed by software engineer Josh Wardle, who sold the popular word game to The New York Times after it became a worldwide sensation.

In a statement on Twitter, he wrote: “Since the launch of Wordle I have been amazed by the response from everyone who has played.

“The game turned out bigger than I ever imagined (which I don’t think is a great achievement considering I made the game for an audience).

“It’s been amazing to see the game bring so much joy to so many people and I’m so grateful for the personal stories some of you have shared with me – from Wordle uniting distant family members to provoking more friendly ones rivalries to supporting medical recoveries.

“On the other hand, I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t mind-blowing.”
